ACAM provides training and examines physicians for competence in the specialized field of chelation therapy. A physician who has successfully completed the ACAM courses is knowledgeable in the safe and effective use of EDTA chelation therapy.

Chelation is the process of taking a mineral and surrounding it with an amino acid ring. As a therapy, this bonding of the amino acid (protein EDTA) to the inorganic mineral (calcium) facilitates its removal from the body.
The body uses protein particles, called Amino Acids, to process the food we eat into our systems (a form of Chelation). EDTA is an amino acid, modified to make it more predictable and dependable in removing specific elements from the body, such as: LEAD, ARSENIC, ALUMINUM, MERCURY, CADMIUM, AND CALCIUM.
This allows leaky and damaged cell walls to heal. Plague smooths over and shrinks allowing more blood to pass. Arterial walls become softer and more pliable for easier expansion.
EDTA must be given in the vein, "IV", to be effective for your body's circulation problems. It travels in the blood through your entire body and is passed out through the kidneys within 24 hours.
A Chelation treatment usually lasts between 1 1/2 to 3 hours. Good snacks are recommeded during treatment, and an endless supply of cold water is provided. A samll library of magaxines, books, and educational materials is available, and interactive friendly conversation is always encouraged.
A select package of supplements is recommended through the course of treatment an dis available for purchase. Other supplements are also available. All bloodwork and other testing can be done on the premises.
